The oil season 2015 is coming to end and you can already enjoy the new oils that are just leaving the mill with their characteristic “tingling“.
You finally returns to have a quality product, after that 2014 has been a terrible year for olives, forcing many farmers do not even collect them. Unfortunately, the weather had favored the proliferation of olive fruit fly (Bactrocera oleae) that had infested most of the fruits, rendering them almost unusable.
This year though, also by the summer heat, the olives were of quality and with an excellent yield. Villa Magna, for example, had yields between 14 and 17 l/q, thus being able to continue to guarantee a good extra-virgin olive oil to use in its truffle products.
We can only wish good appetite with the new oil, perhaps savoring on a classic bruschetta, embellished with fresh truffle slices!
